Some weeks, my reading does not coalesce into a unified theme. Sometimes, it’s just random AND interesting. So, here are three interesting things (and bonus links!), plain and simple.
1) Making choices is hard, and as we’ve discussed before, the more you have, the tougher the decision. As much as it makes sense to walk through the door you’ve opened without looking back, it remains equally true that you’ve decided ignore those other paths. It’s an exercise in reduction as much opportunity. In fact, the word itself contains connections to death and separation, as this short post from The Etymologist explains.
2) Who doesn’t love unsolicited advice? (Um, almost every one.) I find it much more pleasant to peruse someone else’s pearls at my leisure. This list, in particular, has some pretty good ones. My immediate favorite: “That thing that made you weird as a kid could make you great as an adult, if you don’t lose it.”
3) With so much turmoil in the world today, contemplating how to make a difference, or even how to make time to consider that, defies an easy solution. This quick piece from ClearerThinking outlines four ways to make a positive impact, ranging from simple giving to more in depth philanthropic focus.
BONUS LINKS!!!
B1) Elon Musk is many things (Meme God, Tech Rogue, Uber Dork) with his fingers in many pies…according to this, the most important of which might just be the SpaceX Starship
B2) For those of us who choose to stay on Earth, vs. joining Elon on Mars, power generation will remain a challenge, but one perhaps made easier by these super efficient vertical turbines
B3) I have linked to Kraftwerk here before…now you can be your own German-eccentric-electronic trend-setting musician with Beepster
